The Ptujski mali maraton comprises a half marathon, a 6km run, and children's races. Staged in one of Slovenia's oldest and most attractive towns, the event draws over 300 runners annually.

Ptuj is situated on the River Drava at the foot of wine-producing hills in eastern Slovenia.

All races start and finish at the thermal spa of "Terme Ptuj" on the southern bank of the Drava. The medieval old town is across the river on the northern bank.

At first, competitors run a loop of approximately 5.5 kilometres. The 6K runners run home to the finish whereas half marathoners run an out-and-back section along the river, followed by another 5.5K loop. The route is very mildly undulating.

After the race participants get a meal and free entry to the spa's outdoor pools.

Last year's half marathon winners were Danijel Katalenić (1:13:31) and Jana Strahinič (1:29:02).
