Around 100 runners took part in last year's Tek na Gorjance, an uphill running race in Slovenia. The route is 6.2km long, and the elevation gain is moderate — about 430m.

Competitors run through dense forests in a remote location, close to the border with Croatia. The start is on the River Pendirjevka, deep in the forest, approximately 4km south of the village of Cerov Log and 20km from the town of Novo Mesto.

The route runs up the Gorjanci ("Žumberak" in Croatian), a hill range on the Slovenia-Croatia border, beloved by hikers and mountain bikers for its lush vegetation and its many springs and clear streams. The finish is at the church of Sveti Miklavž, which stands on top of a hill (964m).

In 2010, the winners were Boštjan Hrovat (26:49) and Mateja Šuštaršič (33:20).
