9th Frohnleiten Town Run 2011

Held every year on a Saturday afternoon at the end of June, the Stadtlauf in the small and pretty town of Frohnleiten attracts approximately 600 runners and nordic walkers.

Frohnleiten sits in the narrow, industrialized Mur River Valley, around 30 kilometres to the north of the city of Graz. It's easy to reach by train as it's on the railway line from Graz to Vienna.

The main race is the 9.6K run, which consists of two undulating laps around town. In addition, the event offers a 4.8K run, children's races and two distances for nordic walkers.

Starting and finishing on the neat and tidy Hauptplatz, participants run mildly uphill to the village of Adriach, downhill to the River Mur, and then on a gravel path along the river.

In 2010, the winners of the main race were Thomas Bosnjak (32:07) and Sabine Hofer (37:13).
