Over the winter, six road running events take place in Vienna's Prater park. Three are organized by the Vienna City Marathon, and three by the athletics club LCC Wien.

All events are held on the same course (a flat and fast, certified and traffic-free 7km-loop), and all events offer a 7km race and a half marathon.

The VCM events include a 14km race as well. Entrants can decide during the race whether they want to finish after one lap, after two laps, or after three laps to complete a half marathon.

The entry fees to the VCM events are higher than to the LCC "Eisbärlauf" races, although you seem to get a bit less for your money.

In 2010, more than 450 runners took part in the first event of the series. The top half marathon finishers were Marius Bock (1:13:22) and Carola Bendl-Tschiedel (1:31:06).
