"LCC Polar Bear Run 2011" - 2nd Run

The ninth running of the Eisbärlauf winter race series in Vienna brings athletes again to the Prater park in the eastern part of Austria's metropolis.

From January to March, three events invite runners to test their shape or set an early-season personal best time. The course is very flat and fast, traffic-free and certified.

Participants choose between the 7km race, which consists of one lap, and the half marathon, which comprises three laps. The final lap is slightly longer than 7 kilometres.

The start and the finish are close to the Ernst-Happel-Stadion, Austria's largest athletic and football stadium, named after the legendary football coach Ernst Happel.

In 2010, around 700 runners took part in the second event of the Eisbärlauf series. The half marathon winners were Marius Bock (1:10:46) and Eva-Maria Gradwohl (1:18:02).
