4. Tek Gorenjskega glasa 2010
4th Race of the 'Voice of Gorenjska'
Preddvor (Slovenia), Sunday 26 September 2010
An 11k multi-terrain race through pretty countryside.
The final race of the Gorenjski pokal, a series of ten races in Slovenia's alpine Gorenjska region, is held on a rural course at the foot of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps.
Competitors run 11 kilometres on mixed terrain, mostly on dirt roads and trails. Approximately 4 kilometres are on asphalt roads.
The route goes through fields, woods, villages and along the fast-flowing River Kokra. The first half of the course is slightly downhill, the second half uphill.
Start and finish are at the primary school in the village of Preddvor. Located around 36 kilometres to the north of Slovenia's capital Ljubljana, Preddvor is a popular day-tripping destination as there's a lovely little lake (Jezero Črnava) with a castle, a hotel and a café.
In 2009, the winners were Peter Letnar (38:04) and Valerija Mrak (42:01).
