9. Tek po Lončariji 2010
9th Race through Lončarija
This summer evening running event takes place in the village of Dolenja vas in southern Slovenia, about 50 kilometres from the capital Ljubljana and just 4 kilometres from Ribnica, one of the oldest towns in the country.
Dolenja vas is situated in a fertile valley surrounded by densely forested hills. The locals call the area "Lončarija", or "Land of Pottery", as this was the most important industry in the valley for centuries. Wood carving was widely practised as well.
The event offers a 9.4km race, a 2km recreational run, two children's races, and a guided walk.
Participants in the 9.4km race run a flat loop through the fields in the north of the village, followed by an undulating loop through the fields to the south.
Most of the course is on asphalt roads. Approximately 2 kilometres are on dirt roads.
In 2009, the winners were Bojan Cebin (30:00) and Jana Strahinič (36:59).
