2nd Sava Half Marathon 2010
Zagreb (Croatia), Sunday 28 February 2010
The Croatian running season starts off with a trail half marathon in Croatia's capital Zagreb.
Competitors run along both banks of the River Sava, mostly on the green embankments of the river, far from any traffic.
The route is very flat and offers good views of Lake Jarun and Mount Sljeme to the north, and of the huge housing estates of Novi Zagreb ("New Zagreb") to the south.
The event includes a 5k race and a 5k nordic walking competition.
In 2009, the winners were Ivan Vrdoljak (1:20:17) and Antonija Orlić (1:35:01).
