9th Karst Half Marathon
Nice place for a run!
Last year, more than 2000 runners came to the small town of Sežana in the Slovene Karst to take part in either the half marathon or the supporting 8.45km race.
The half marathon is a truly international race as almost 9km of the course are on Italian soil. The attractive, undulating route takes you from Sežana through the famous stud farm of Lipica, the origin of the Lipizzaner horses, and then across the Italian border to the villages of Basovizza and Trebiciano. From there, you run back to Sežana on a nice cycle path.
The event incorporates a race walking competition on the track as well as a 4.8km walk through Sežana.
