The Brasov Marathon is a multi-terrain mountain running event held annually in the Carpathians in Romania.

It offers four very challenging races which begin and end on Piața Sfatului (Council Square), the spacious and beautiful main square of the city of Brașov.

  • 70km ultramaraton (+3,900m)
  • 41km maraton (+2,200m)
  • 21km semimaraton (+1,050m)
  • 9km cros (+380m)

All routes climb up and down the steep slopes of the densely-wooded Postăvarul Massif.

The marathon takes the runners to Poiana Brașov (one of Romania's most popular ski resorts) and to Vârful Postăvarul (or simply „Postăvaru”; 1,799m), the highest peak of the massif.

Participants in the ultramarathon also run to the summit of Piatra Mare (1,843m), the highest peak of the neighbouring Piatra Mare Mountains.
