Set in the picturesque rolling countryside to the north of Udine, a beautiful old city in the Friuli area in north-eastern Italy, the Cjaminade di San Josef is a non-competitive event that is popular with runners and walkers alike.
The event forms part of the Sagra di San Giuseppe festival which is held annually in March in the village of Laipacco in the municipality of Tricesimo.
Two very scenic routes are on offer, approximately 7km and 14km long. Both routes are well marked and on mixed terrain, mostly on trails. Some sections are on asphalt.
The course runs through fields, woods and vineyards and along the Cormor river, passing a number of truly impressive old villas.
