The Havířovská desítka ("Havířov 10k") takes place annually in October in Havířov, a town of about 72,000 inhabitants in the Moravian-Silesian Region in the Czech Republic.

Havířov is Czechia's youngest town, founded after World War Two in a coal-mining and steel-producing area near Ostrava, the third-largest city in the country.

The event begins with the kids' run at 10.00 a.m., followed the 5k race at 10.30 a.m. and the 10k at 12 noon. The 10k race is open to individual runners as well as to relay teams of four runners (4x2.5km).

Starting at náměstí Republiky, Havířov's main square (pictured below), the 5k is one lap and the 10k is two laps of a flat course through the town centre which was built in the 1950s in the style of socialist realism.
