It is difficult to imagine a more scenic town run than the SpaRun in Czechia.

Held in Mariánské Lázně (German: Marienbad), one of the three world-famous Bohemian spas, the route winds its way on mixed terrain through beautiful gardens and parks, passing innumerable opulent buildings, including the magnificent Neo-baroque Kolonáda Maxima Gorkého (pictured above).

The 6.4km route follows the paths where the who's who of royals, writers and composers used to stroll around and sip mineral water from natural springs.

Starting and ending on the athletics track of the Sportovní areál Victoria, the course is traffic-free and undulating. It includes several testing ascents and descents.

The children's races (400m, 1km, 1.4km) are flat.

Fine Czech beer and plenty of food are available in the finish area, and usually there is also an after-race party with live music.
