Held on the trails of the densely-wooded Ještědský hřbet (Ještěd Ridge) in the far north of the Czech Republic, the Ještědský půlmaraton (Ještěd Half Marathon) is a real challenge for every runner.

Starting and finishing at the Ski areál Ještěd on the edge of the city of Liberec, the 21-kilometre race features 1,350 metres of ascent (and 1,350 metres of descent).

The highest point on the course is on the summit of Ještěd (1,012m), the highest peak of the ridge, which is topped with a highly-acclaimed 1960s/70s hotel-cum-TV-tower, listed as a national cultural monument:

The race was the fourth of nine races of the Trail Running Cup 2019.
