The Silvesterlauf Innsbruck (‘New Year's Eve Run Innsbruck’) is held every year on 31 December in the city of Innsbruck, capital of the state of Tirol (Tyrol) in Austria.

It's a running event for the whole family:

  • 1.6km Kinderlauf (kids' run)
  • 2.5km Nordic Walking
  • 5km Hauptlauf (main race)

Participants in the Hauptlauf run two laps of a scenic course through the picturesque Altstadt (Old Town) and along the River Inn, passing many of Innsbruck's best sights, such as the Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof) and the imposing Hofburg (Imperial Palace; pictured).
