Held on the streets of Rosenheim, an old city of 60,000 people in Germany's state of Bayern (Bavaria), the Rosenheimer Citylauf comprises:

Starting on Max-Josefs-Platz, Rosenheim's cobbled main square in the beautiful Old Town, the 10.55km quarter marathon is four laps of a mainly-flat course.

The route runs through the city centre, through parkland and along the Mangfall river.

Last year, more than 400 runners and walkers took part in the event. The winners of the quarter marathon were Lars Rößler (36 minutes 2 seconds) and Lena Barth (40 minutes 51 seconds). The time limit to complete the course is 80 minutes.

This year, and in 2018 as well, the Rosenheimer City-Lauf will be held on the Tag der Deutschen Einheit (Day of German Unity), Germany's national day, celebrated on October 3rd to commemorate the anniversary of German reunification in 1990.
