The Marcia dei Vini forms part of the Fiera dei Vini, a five-day wine-and-food festival that has been held since 1970 in the village of Corno di Rosazzo in the Province of Udine in the north-east of Italy.

Two routes are on offer — 6km and 12km long.

A marcia is a non-competitive event that is open to both runners and hikers, so there won't be any timekeeping, and no results lists either. Prizes will be awarded to the largest groups, not to the fastest finishers.

Participants can start at any time between 4pm and 5pm, and they can still decide on the course which distance they want to run (or walk).

Both routes are very hilly and scenic loops on mixed terrain (asphalt, gravel and trails), mostly through vineyards, woods and rural areas.

The entry fees (€ 3) include snacks and drinks on the course, and after the run there will be ample opportunity to sample fine local wines at the Fiera dei Vini.
