Well over 1,000 runners took part in last year's Tek štirih mostov (‘Four Bridges Run’), a 10k race through the town of Škofja Loka in Slovenia.

Situated just about twenty kilometres from Ljubljana, Škofja Loka is one of the oldest and prettiest small towns in the country.

Starting at 9pm on Mestni trg, the main square, competitors run two laps (4km+6km) of an undulating course through the medieval Old Town, through residential and rural areas, and across two rivers and four bridges.

It is possible to run the race as a two-person relay team.

The event also features a pasta party and an open air art festival on Friday night and an after-race party with live music on Saturday night.
