Participants in the 50km-Ultramarathon in Germany run ten laps of a mostly flat 5km course through woods and farmland on the edge of the town of Rodgau, which is situated about 25km from the city of Frankfurt.

Approximately 3km of each lap are run on unpaved roads, and 2km on asphalt.

In 2015, 538 runners (out of a total of 860 starters) finished the 50k race. The winners were Oleksandr Holovnytskyy of Ukraine (3:08:48) and Tinka Uphoff of Germany (3:39:06). The time limit to complete the ultra marathon race is six hours.
