Held in Oradea, a city of 200,000 people situated in the far north-west of Romania, just about 13km from the border with Hungary, the Oradea City Running Day is a truly international event.
Last year, runners from ten countries took part in the half marathon which consists of four laps of a mostly-flat course.
The event also offers a a 5.275km run (one lap), a 10.55km quarter marathon (two laps), a half marathon relay, and a 1km race for children.
Starting and finishing on Ferdinand Square near the magnificent City Hall, the route takes the runners on roads and cycleways along both banks of the Crișul Repede River and through the city centre.
The time limit to finish the half marathon is three hours.
