With 54 finishers last year, the Zlatý podzim (‘Golden Autumn’) 10k road race is one of the smallest running events in our Run International Race Guide.

It deserves your attention, however, as it gives you the opportunity to take part in a long-standing local race that is held in a fine relaxed atmosphere in an interesting area far off the beaten tourist tracks.

The route is an undulating loop through residential and agricultural areas, starting and finishing at the Cultural Centre of Vratimov, a small town with a long industrial heritage — like the neighbouring city of Ostrava, the Czech Republic's third-largest city. The course is not closed to traffic but most of the roads are rather quiet.
