The Primorski pokalni krosi, a series of four cross-country running events that take place over the winter months in four different rural locations in Slovenia's Primorska region, kicks off with the Kros Vrtojbensko biljenski griči.

Held in the lovely vineyards of the Vrtojba Bilje Hills near the border with Italy, the event gives runners of all ages the opportunity to test their shape and build up stamina for the coming running season.

Seven race distances are available:

  • 300m: children (born 2009)
  • 500m: children (born 2005-2008)
  • 1km: children (born 2003-2004)
  • 2km: children (born 2001-2002)
  • 4km: juniors (born 1997-2000)
  • 6km: women (born 1996 or ealier); men (born 1970 or earlier)
  • 8km: men (born 1971-1996)

All routes are very hilly and scenic. The 6k consists of three laps, the 8k is four laps.
