Staged in the Hostýnské vrchy hills in Moravia, the Běh na Svatý Hostýn is a 5km uphill race which features 422m of ascent.

The race kicks off at 2pm on the main square of Bystřice pod Hostýnem, a small town of about 8,400 people, situated at an elevation of 300m at the foot of the hill range.

The race is run on mixed terrain (cobbles, asphalt and trails), finishing at an elevation of 722m on the hilltop of Svatý Hostýn, a popular pilgrimage site with a basilica (pictured) and an observation tower on top.

Almost 200 runners took part in the event last year. The winners were Martin Kučera (21:51) and Pavla Schorná (24:12).
