Around 600 runners took part in last year's Festungslauf ("Fortress Run"), a very scenic uphill race in Germany's state of Saxony.
The race features 255m of ascent over a 7.8km route.
It begins with a loop through Königstein, a small town on the River Elbe, situated approximately 13km from the border with the Czech Republic.
Then, participants run uphill to the finish line which is inside one of Europe's largest and most impressive hilltop fortifications, Festung Königstein.
The course commands stunning panoramic views over the Elbe River Valley and the Sächsische Schweiz ('Saxon Switzerland') with its fairy-tale rock formations.
