19th ‘Road Race Jaworzno’ 2014

This 15km road race (Polish: bieg uliczny) draws around 600 to 700 runners to the city of Jaworzno in the Upper Silesian Industrial Region in southern Poland.

Starting and finishing at the Hala Widowiskowo-Sportowa sports arena, the race follows an undulating out-and-back course through the northern parts of the city.

Although the race takes place within the city limits of Jaworzno, a large part of the route runs through open countryside and woods between the city centre and the district of Szczakowa, where Poland's first coal mine was opened in 1767.

In 2013, the fastest finishers were Launen Kwalia of Kenya (47:02) and Olha Kotovska of Ukraine (54:09). The time limit to complete the course is two hours.
