The Stadtlauf Leipzig offers a 5k and a 10k run in the city centre of Leipzig, a lively city of more than half a million people in eastern Germany. In 2012, over 900 runners took part in the 5k race, and more than 1800 completed the 10k course.

The 5k is one lap, and the 10k is two laps of a flat course through Leipzig's eclectic mix of historic and modern buildings. Start and finish are at the City-Hochhaus, the tallest building in eastern Germany (pictured above).

Instead of a bib, entrants get a technical T-shirt which they must wear during the race.
