The Marathon 7500 is an ultra marathon trail running race in the imposing Bucegi Mountains in central Romania.

The event offers two extremely challenging routes — a 45km route with 3200m of elevation gain, and a 90km route with 7500m of elevation gain.

Participants must form a team of two runners. Both team members run the full distance. They must run and finish the race together.

The start and the finish line are at an elevation of about 1600 metres at the ‘Salvamont Pestera’ (Mountain Rescue Team Headquarters Pestera), about 150km north of Romania's capital Bucharest.

As the event takes place in a high-alpine environment (the highest peak of the range is over 2500 metres high) only experienced and well-prepared mountain runners should aim to take part in the competition.

The time limit to complete the course is 16 hours for the 45km ‘Hobby’ race and 40 hours for the 90km ‘Elite’ race.
