12. Salzach Brückenlauf 2012
Burghausen (Germany), Sunday 14 October 2012
Europe's longest castle—the 1051-metre-long Burg zu Burghausen—provides a stunning backdrop for the Salzach Brückenlauf ("Salzach Bridge Run"), a very scenic and attractive running event on the Germany-Austria border. Entrants can choose between the 8.7k race, the 3.15k run, and the 5.5k walk. Start and finish are on the colourful Stadtplatz in Burghausen's old town. All participants run (or walk) through the old town and across two bridges across the River Salzach, which forms the border between Germany and Austria. The 8.7k and 5.5k routes also run on undulating gravel paths and trails through parkland and around a lovely bathing and rowing lake at the foot of the castle. |
