Held in the small town of Bruck an der Leitha in the far east of Austria, the Brucker Citylauf attracts over 500 runners, a fair number of them from nearby Hungary and Slovakia.

All races begin and end on Hauptplatz, the main square of Bruck an der Leitha.

The event begins with a 1 mile race (1.609km) which consists of two loops through the Old Town, followed by the immensely popular children's races.

The main race is the 10 kilometre run. Competitors run a short loop through the town centre, and then two longer loops on gravel paths through the Harrachpark, a beautiful English landscape park. The course is flat and AIMS-certified.

Participants in the 5.4 kilometre race run a short loop through the town centre and one loop through the park.

In 2011, Hungarian athletes set new course records in the 10km race. Mihály Zsiros was the fastest finisher in a time of 33:16. Ida Kovács won the women's race in 36:48.
