Sljeme Marathon - Hog's Trail Marathon

The Sljemenski maraton features a very challenging route on lovely woodland trails.

Start and finish are at the radio transmission tower on top of Sljeme (1035m), the highest peak of Mount Medvednica which rises to the north of Croatia's capital Zagreb.

The event offers a 42.2km marathon (which consists of three laps) and a 3x14km relay race. Each lap includes 470 metres of descent and 470 metres of ascent!

Participants can get to the start by car or bus.

In 2011, the event had 265 participants. The marathon winners were Renato Pomahač (3:19:26) and Veronika Jurišić (3:45:06).
