Runners in Slovakia's capital Bratislava celebrate the end of the year with a point-to-point race along the River Danube.
The Silvestrovský beh cez bratislavské mosty (‘New Year's Eve Run across Bratislava's Bridges’) begins at the Ekonomická univerzita (University of Economics) in the eastern part of Bratislava and ends at the Štadión FTVŠ Lanfranconi in the western part of the city.
The route is 11.7 kilometres long and very scenic.
Participants run across five enormous bridges: Prístavný most, Most Apollo, Starý most (out and back), Most SNP (out and back) and Most Lafranconi (→ course map).
