Around 150 athletes of all ages took part in last year's Kros Biljenski griči ("Cross in the Bilje Hills") — the first of a series of three cross-country running races in Slovenia's Mediterranean Primorska region.

Held in the lovely vineyards of the Bilje Hills on the Slovenia-Italy border (just four kilometres from the Italian town of Gorizia), the event gives runners the opportunity to test their shape and build up stamina for the coming running season.
