The Lake Garda Marathon features a very attractive, gently undulating route around the northern part of Lago di Garda, Italy's largest lake.

The race begins in the village of Limone sul Garda on the western shore and ends in the small town of Malcesine on the eastern shore.

Pre- and post-race ferryboat transport between the start and the finish areas is included in the entry fees.

The first 12km and the last 15km are run along the lakefront. The middle part of the course is a scenic loop through orchards between the lake and the town of Arco.

The event includes a non-competitive 15K run which follows the last 15 kilometres of the marathon. The start line is in the windsurfing resort of Torbole.

In 2010, the top marathon finishers were Pietro Colnaghi (2:28:23) and Monica Carlin (2:53:01).
