The route runs through the village of Versa.
The mild winter temperatures near the Adriatic Sea, combined with a very flat course across the Friulian Plain, allow you to run a fast half marathon in mid-January.
In addition to the half marathon, the event offers a 30k race.
Start and finish is in the village of Medea, which is between the cities of Udine and Trieste in the far north-east of Italy. The Adriatic Coast is around 26 kilometres to the south.
The course travels through fields and villages in the provinces of Gorizia and Udine. Apart from a couple of bridges the route is flat and fast. The 30k includes approximately 2km of dirt roads.
In 2009, the half marathon winners were Roman Weger (1:09:07) and Sylvie Tramoy (1:23:27), both from Villach in Austria. Their club-mate Markus Hohenwarter led the 30k runners home (1:38:10), Anna Parrella from the Friuli area won the women's race (2:09:12).
